Michael Edward Knox is an Industry Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department (ECE) at NYU Tandon School of Engineering and will be a Faculty Advisor for the project. His technical expertise and current research is in the areas of wireless communications, analog/RF electronics and embedded systems.
Mike has been appointed as one of Tandon’s Faculty Engineer in Residence to provide technical and business assistance to NYU Future Labs incubator companies. Michael has received the NYU-Poly 2015 Distinguished Award for Excellence for the Dedication to Invention, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the NYU-Poly Distinguished Teacher Award for 2011. He manages the ECE department’s engineering labs and is faculty chair of Tandon’s new 10,000 square foot MakerSpace.
Mike is faculty advisor to several student clubs. He is the founder and co-founder of five start-up companies including BotFactory, which started little over three years ago as a student project and is now shipping their first commercial circuit printer, Squink, around the globe.
Mike is associated with the Medline Project and the Mobility devices for the elderly.
