Design Thinking: Problem Solving for Community Needs
September 27, 2017 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Design thinking is a creative problem solving approach which is human-centered and iterative and allows us to come up with innovative solutions that fulfill people’s needs. We invite you to join us for an interactive workshop in which we will share design thinking methods and tools for change-makers to collaborate and brainstorm ideas that can help transform their communities. Imagine how to tackle social issues to develop solutions that meet community needs.
This workshop is for anyone who wants to lean what design thinking is all about, experience the process in a collaborative setting, and explore how to use this approach to develop solutions that will address community needs Students will practice empathy, creative collaboration, and prototyping as they work in teams on a challenge prompt.
As the design thinking approach is particularly relevant for individuals working on social ventures, we are partnering with the NYU Social Entrepreneurship Program who will share details about the Changemaker Challenge. The NYU Changemaker Challenge offers undergraduates the opportunity to pitch their social venture idea and compete for $10,000 to turn their vision into reality!
