Journalism used to be all about writing and content creation. However, today media companies produce written content along with web interactives, data applications, podcasts, newsletters, chat bots, and in some cases even software. This change has increased the skills needed for newsrooms to thrive, adding things like coding, design, data, product management and ux research. Can journalism education keep up in providing the skill sets that journalists and media professionals need to produce high quality work?
The problem we will be tackling is:
How might we improve journalism teaching to match the needs of the XXI century?
